In this workshop, you’ll get an introduction to basic upholstery so you can give any wooden framed chair a new look and a second chance. This class will include demonstrations in woven seat bases, cushion making, and techniques for fabric covers.This workshop will lead you through step by step instructions in making a brand new upholstered seat cushion for any wood chair. By the end of the session, you’ll know the tools and tricks needed to strip old seats off and create new ones. No sewing or woodworking experience is necessary. If you can operate a staple gun and scissors, you’ll be just fine.

Lara has been sewing and practicing the art of upholstery since her mother made her help reupholster the antique sofa when she was seven. She now designs and sews theatrical costumes and creates custom interiors, as well as gives chairs new life with new seats and covers.
